Estelle gave birth to a beautiful gray spotted little girl by Cajun Spirit on Monday, November 25, 2024.  Since this was so close to Thanksgiving, we decided to give her a Thanksgiving themed name.  The Maple trees are so pretty this time of year so her first name is Maple.  He second name is Grace, to reflect the kindness we show each other during this reflective season.  She will answer to Maple, but I like to use her whole name, Maple Grace.  Maple Grace was reserved ten months ago, so she already has a loving home once

she is weaned.

December 2024

I
have never seen a red spotted donkey.  Most people have not.  There is always a chance that a Sorrel / Spotted cross will produce a red spotted goal, but mostly people get gray dun or gray spotted foals from this cross.  Well Miranda changed our lives on December 3, 2024 when she gave birth to a RED SPOTTED little boy!!!!  Oh my gosh!  I don’t think I have ever seen a more beautiful baby donkey!!!  His red spots are very light, but we expect that they will darken with age.  His name?  Well, it had to of course represent his RED spots so we finally settled on Peppermint.  As you have likely guessed, Peppermint was reserved ten months ago and will be going home with Maple Grace when he is weaned.

April, 2024

Guess what?  Guess what?  Whirl Wind gave birth to the darkest, tiniest little girl you have ever seen on April 25, 2024.  This little one is full of energy and overflowing with love!  She is absolutely the farm favorite!!  As you know, Whirl Wind comes from a line of donkeys with meteorological names.  Kristen named Whirl Wind so it was only fitting that Kristen name this new baby.  Her absolutely perfect name is Nova Wind.  Thank you, Kristen!

September, 2023

Oh my gosh!l  Look what Gale Storm did on September18, 2023!  She gave birth to a stunning spotted boy by Cajun Spirit! Oh my!  Have you ever  seen anything more adorable?  We named him Marcel Io (a French first name to honor his father and one of Jupiter’s moons to honor his mother).  Marcel came out of his mother incredibly friendly with a special affection for young children.  He is every body’s favorite donkey!  i know you would love to have him, but Marcel is already purchased and will be going home with Crimson.  What a pair of donkeys this will make!

April, 2023

Miranda didn’t come in for chores on Thursday, April 25, 2023.  I knew immediately that she had given birth down in the bottom of the pasture!  Ashley ran down there and came back holding a beautiful little sorrel jack, followed closely by Miranda.  Oh my goodness!  This little donkey is beyond precious!!!!  He is tiny and one of the friendliest donkeys we have had!  We got Miranda and her baby settled then started looking for a name.  As you know, all our sorrel babies get “red” names.  You might also know that there was unusually active aurora borealis April 23 and 24, much of it bright red.  So this little boy is now Crimson Borealis!  Congratulations Miranda, Crimson, Red Adair (the proud dad!), and the family who have been waiting months for his arrival!

November, 2022

N
ovember 16, 2023 was a huge day for us!  That is the day we had two miniature donkeys delivered from Half Ass Acres in Chapel Hill, Tennessee.  We had reserved these donkeys as soon as they were born and anxiously awaited their arrival for the next six months.  We are calling the black jenny on the left Snickers and the sorrel jack on the right Rusty.  They are going to add color, genetics, and personality to our miniature donkey herd.  We can hardly wait to see what they produce.  Welcome to elevenses, Snickers and Rusty!!

October, 2022

G
uess what we found the morning of October 17, 2022?  You guessed it!  Estelle had given birth to an amazing spotted boy!  Oh my!  I immediately texted the family who had already reserved him.  You see, they had already reserved Etta James, a little spotted jenny.  And now they had a spotted jack!  Talk about winning the lottery!!!  They are now the proud owner of two spotted donkeys - a little jenny and a little jack.  This guy had to have the perfect name.  His dad is also Cajun Spirit and we finally settled on Maque Choux (a classic Cajun recipe of corn and peppers), or Max for short.  Goodness, but he is handsome!

August, 2022

We
had been expecting a baby from Black BeautyBeauty every day for a week.  Friday, August 26, while doing chores, we realized Black Beauty hadn’t yet come in to the paddock.  There had to be a baby out in the pasture!  Ericka and Ashley ran out to pasture, and sure enough there was Black Beauty and her amazing little foal!  This little girl is spotted, just like her dad, Cajun Spirit, and so she was given a name to reflect her Louisiana roots.  Meet Ettouffee James, or Etta James to all her know her.  Etta James is the friendliest baby donkey we have ever seen.  She is, of course, already purchased and her family loves her to pieces!

Our little Arwen surprised us with a tiny foal on January 19, 2022!  He is amazingly friendly and everyone’s favorite.  He loves to sit on laps so when you come visit us, do not hesitate to sit on the ground and ask him to come visit you!  His father is our Red Adair.  Oh!  I almost forgot to tell you his name!  Arwen was named after an elf from The Lord of the Rings, so his name had to come from the same epic story. Tilion was the guardian of the moon.  Since this little jack will be going with Midnight Sky, we decided to name him Tilion Moon.

November, 2021

OK.
So we really weren’t terribly surprised when Gale Storm gave birth to a donkey on Monday, November 18, 2021, but we were definitely surprised to find that it wasn’t spotted.  After all, Gale Storm is spotted and she was bred by Cajun Spirit, a spotted jack.  But once we saw this baby, we were definitely not disappointed!  She may not be spotted, but she is the most unusual baby we have ever seen.  She is black with silver tips!  I am not kidding you!  She is black with cross, she has silver on her legs, on her chest and on the end of every single black hair on her body!  She literally shimmers in the sun!  This extraordinary little girl needed an extraordinary name and Kristen finally came up with it:  Midnight Sky!!!!!  Sky was purchased before she was born and her family couldn’t be more delighted!  Come see Sky.  You will not believe what you are seeing!

May, 2021

Never one to let a holiday go unnoticed, Cherry had her baby on Monday, May 31, 2021, Memorial Day!  Cherry is sorrel, and she was bred to Red Adair, our sorrel herdsire, so it was no surprise that the new baby donkey was also sorrel.  What was surprising was his great big whit star on his forehead!  Oh my!  He is beyond gorgeous.  Well, this little guy was purchased and named before he was even born, So, once his new family saw his pictures and confirmed that they wanted him, he became Rowan (Irish, for “red haired”).  This was a perfect name for a perfect little boy! Rowan is full of energy and mischief!  He loves to play with his mom and he is alway the first one out in the pasture in the morning, calling for all the other donkeys to came join him in play! Rowan will join his older sister, KiKi when he is is six months old and ready to leave his mom.  In the meantime, he will continue to bring smiles to our faces!

March, 2021

E
stelle had a tiny, dark brown little girl on Friday, March 12, 2021.  She is gorgeous and looks just like her beautiful mom  (Cajun Spirit is the proud papa).  Her family has been waiting for her and already had the perfect name:  Kiki.  KiKi Ginsburg.  Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s nickname was Kiki.  What a wonderful name for this precious little gils and what a special way to honor one of our very best Supreme Court Justices!  Kiki’s new family has already come to visit their little girl several times.  They are over the moon with her!

February, 2021

W
hoever would have guessed we would have a RED baby on Valentine’s day?  Well, we did!  Miranda gave birth to one of the most gorgeous sorrel babies (The dad is Red Adair, of course) on February 14, 2021.  Wow!  Talk about smashing!!  This special baby had to have a very special name and Kristen came up with the perfect one:  Valentina Rose.  Of all the beautiful sorrel miniature donkeys we have seen, Valentina just may the very best.  Valentina is the friendliest baby donkey you have ever met and once she is weaned, she and Charlie will bring love and joy to their new family.  Congratulations, all!

November 2020

You
are not going to believe this!  Whirl Wind had her very first baby (by Cajun Spirit) on Wednesday, November 11, 2020.  And is he ever SMASHING!!!  He is a perfectly conformed BROWN and white spotted jack!  You would never have imagined a foal this amazing in your DREAMS!  Of course, the first person I contacted was Kristen (who would not let me sell Whirl Wind and is therefore responsible for this amazing donkey!) and she came right over.  Kristen was the one responsible for naming him and so he became Charley Cane (for a hurricane named Charley).  Not surprisingly, Charley was sold before the day was over.  Luckily, we get to enjoy this little lover for another six months until he goes to his new home.

June, 2020

OM
G!  OMG!  OMG!  Saturday, June 13, 2020, Arwen gave birth to an absolutely smashing little girl by Red Adair.  She is tiny, very dark brown and full of life!  Arwen is named from the elf who gave up immortality for love from The Lord of the Rings, so this new little darling also needs a name from The Lord of the Rings.  After much discussion, we named her Elanor, the daughter of Sam from The Lord of the Rings.  Elanor is already purchased and will be going with Lana to a wonderful military family.  Congratulations, all!

April, 2020

Sa
turday morning, April 18, 2020, Gale Storm gave birth to a beautiful spotted jenny by Cajun Spirit we named Lana Rain (Lana was a Northern Pacific hurricane).  This was Gale Storm’s first and unfortunately, she she didn’t want to let Lana nurse.  Gale Storm did not reject her baby, she just didn’t understand.  I sent out an urgent request for help and Kristen arrived shortly after.  I held Gale Storm and Kristen directed Lana to the nipples.  Success!  Thank you so much, Kristen!  Within a couple of hours Gale Storm was willingly nursing her new baby.  Before you ask, this beautiful little girl was purchased before she was born and will be going to a wonderful family with two little boys who already love her!

October, 2019

We
are beyond excited!  On October 5, 2019, Kamryn and Amber brought Tanasi home!  Tanasi is a black and white Tyger spotted weanling jack who will take on the responsibility of third herdsire as Jeremy is now retired.  Tanasi (which is Cherokee for Tennessee) was bred by Half Ass Acres in Chapel Hill, Tennessee.  His father is black and white spotted.  His mother is grey dun with no light points.  We bought Tanasi the day after he was born and were given the option of naming him.  We can hardly wait for Tanasi to assume his duties of fathering the next generation of Elevenses Miniature Donkeys!

August, 2019

You
will never guess what I found the morning of Thursday, August 29, 2019!!!!  A tiny baby donkey!  A tiny SPOTTED baby GIRL donkey!  Mom, Estelle was just moved to the big donkey herd two days earlier.  Just in time!  This little girl is so special because Estelle is nine years old and this is her first baby.  Estelle’s people moved to ITALY and they asked if we would take her back.  Of course we said yes and are we ever glad we did!  The dad is Cajun Spirit so it only seemed fitting to name the new baby Crepes Suzette.   Suzette is likely the friendliest donkey we have ever seen.  And just two days later, the decision was made that she would be joining Jumanji and Willow in a very (donkey) loving home.  Congratulations, Suzette!  Life just doesn’t get any better than this! SOLD
June, 2019

They say good things come in three.  Well that certainly happened to us!  On Monday, June 17, 2019, Black Beauty had an itty bitty spotted jack by Cajun Spirit.  Oh my!  Is he ever HOT!!  He was immediately named Jambalaya, after a very spicy Louisiana rice dish.  Perfect!  Jambalaya is a little lover who is doing his very best to keep up with his big sisters.  What a guy!  Way to go, Black Beauty!!  Goodness, after these three extraordinary donkeys, we need to sit down and take a breath.  Want to join us?  You will fall in love!  SOLD

Just a week after Miranda gave us Miaka San, on June 8, 2019, Cherry also gave birth to a sorrel girl!  That is correct.  Both our Sorrel moms gave birth to sorrel girls!!  This one is even tinier than Miaka and darker red than Miaka, but every bit as lovable as Miaka!  The dad, of course is none other than Red Adair, the premier producer of sorrel babies.  I tell you, nothing will bring you more joy than watching two tiny sorrel donkey babies chase each other up and down the pasture, while their moms are watching helplessly!  Oh!  I forgot to tell you her name.  Raspberry Sorbet, of course!  SOLD
May, 2019

So, Miranda, one of the two sorrel girls we bought last year, had her baby on Thursday, May 30, 2019.  The dad is Red Adair, so we were assured the baby would also be sorrel.  Well, not only is she sorrel, she is tiny, perfect, and the biggest lover you have ever seen!  Her name is Miaka San.  Miaka is Japanese for RED and San is indicative of respect, often added to the end of a name.  Miaka loves to sit on your lap and she gives the best donkey hugs ever!  You have just got to come visit this baby donkey!  PENDING

November, 2018

W
ednesday morning, November 21, 2018, Arwen (named after the elf in The Lord of the Rings who gave up mortality for love)gave birth to an amazing little girl!  While breeding a non-sorrel donkey to a sorrel donkey cannot result in a sorrel baby (sorrel is completely recessive), it often produces some of the most interesting color combinations.  And this new baby is no exception!  Willow (named after a magical tree from The Lord of the Rings) has a gray dun body, a red face, and dapple legs!  She is beautiful!  She is also sweet, gentle, and intelligent.  She is truly unique!  Willow, whose father is, of course, Red Adair, is already reserved!

May, 2018

We
have heard you loud and clear!  You want donkeys and we just can’t produce them fast enough!  We have been searching high and low for donkeys to increase our breeding stock.  I just happened to check out Half Ass Acres in Chapel Hill, Tennessee right after they put Miranda and Cherry up for sale.  I immediately sent out an email to see if they were still available.  They were!  I immediately bought them and arranged to have them delivered to Elevenses.  Miranda and Cherry are Sorrel girls, 10 and 11 years old.  They have each had three foals.  They came to us open.  They are now bred by Red Adair!  in a year, we hope to have two red babies!
Wow!
Coretta gave birth to her very first baby on Memorial Day, Monday, May 28, 2018.  This little boy is truly TINY - just a little imp of a donkey!  He came out friendly and ready for hugs.  He loves everybody he meets and is convinced they love him, too.  He is, of course, right!  We ALL love him and just can’t get enough of baby donkey hugs!  His name?  Oh, that was easy.  Coretta is named for Coretta Scott King.  Her baby is Harry Belafonte, named after the great singer and activist.  SOLD!

October, 2017

Oh wo
w!  Black Beauty gave birth to the MOST adorable baby donkey you have ever seen on Saturday, October 21, 2017!!!  She is a nearly black (will be registered Black with Cross) daughter of Cajun Spirit  .  She is absolutely the FRIENDLIEST little donkey EVER!  If you get down on the ground, she will come sit in your lap.  Everyone who has met her has fallen in love with her.  Her name?  Well she is a Cajun Spirit daughter, so she is named after Norah Jones, a beloved Jazz singer.  Our Norah is tiny, perfectly conformed, full of energy, and ready to bring an abundance of love to your life.  SOLD. (Photo by Kamryn.)

May, 2017

W
hoo Hooo!  Bailey had her baby on Tuesday, May 30, 2017!  This tiny little girl is Cajun Spirit’s second child.  Wow!  We couldn’t be happier with his babies!  This little sweetheart is bold, fearless, and full of fun!  You should see her leap over tall weeds!  We searched and searched for the perfect name for this perfect baby and finally settled on Beignet (Bin-yay).  A Beignet is a square, fried French donut coated in powdered sugar.  It is a favorite desert in New Orleans (Cajun country).  This little girl will be happy to bring some Cajun culture to your life.  Beignet is sold.  She is going to live with Sauron (just below).  These two tiny donkeys will be able to enjoy each other and bring love to all they meet for the rest of their lives!  (Picture by Ginger.)

While
doing evening chores on Monday, May 1, 2017, it became obvious that Arwen (registered name Wee Ones Precious Heart) was within just a few hours of giving birth.  Right on time, Arwen presented us with a tiny brown Red Adair son at 6:00 AM on May 2, 2017.  We named Arwen after the Lord of the Rings elf who gave up immortality for love.  Therefore, it was only fitting that her son also be named after a Lord of the Rings character.  We quickly settled on  Sauron (pronounced Sore-en).  Sauron is a feared Dark lord or Mordor.  Our Sauron is also dark and there is no doubt he is descended from royalty, but no one need to fear this tiny little donkey!  He wants nothing more than to love and to be loved!  SOLD!

April, 2017

S
aturday morning, April 15, 2017, Storm Warning gave birth to our very first Cajun Spirit baby.  This little girl is one the prettiest spotted foals we have ever seen!  She is tiny, straight, and strong.  We wanted to honor both her mother and her father and so her name is Magnolia Breeze.  Magnolia just seemed to be a very big name for this very little girl, so we are calling her Breezy.  Breezy is already self confident and very friendly.  Upon seeing her very first pictures, Jupiter’s mom and dad immediately decided to purchase Breezy.  We are thrilled, as not only with Jupiter and Breezy grow up together, they will live out their lives together! (Photograph by Kamryn.)  SOLD

As you know, the demand for miniature donkeys far exceeds the supply.  We get calls and emails on a daily basis from people asking for donkeys.  We had been considering adding a couple
of donkeys to our herd when we got an email from some clients who had purchased four donkeys from us seven years ago.  their lifestyle had changed and they  were hoping to rehome two of their donkeys.  We jumped on the chance and soon Estelle and Coretta were returned to Elevenses.  These two girls have received the best of care and are are incredibly healthy and friendly.  They were immediately put in with Cajun Spirit and within a couple of weeks, came into heat.  We couldn’t be happier with these two girls and are looking forward to their first foals!

March, 2017

W
hew!  It was a long dry spell, but the wait was definitely worth while!  Sara gave birth to a positively smashing little boy by Jeremy on Monday, March 6, 2017.  Yes, the old man still has it!  This little boy is nearly black; his cross is just barely visible.  He is strong, straight, intelligent, and full of mischief!  He is friendly and loves to snuggle.  Yes, he should have a zipper on his tummy!  His name?  In order to honor both Mom and Dad, we named him Jupiter Sands.   Jupiter is a complete lover.  He will stand still as long as you continue to pet him.  He loves to snuggle!  SOLD.

May, 2016

R
osie gave birth to her sixteenth baby on Wednesday, May 11, 2016.  As the father is Elevenses Red Adair, it should come as no surprise to you that this little girls is a gorgeous sorrel.  She does have one surprise, though.  She has a beautiful white star on her forehead!  This special little girl needed a very special name.  Ginger and Kristen helped me come up with the perfect name:  Rosalyen!  Lovely, isn’t it?  Rosalyen is tiny, friendly, and breathtakingly beautiful.  SOLD.

April, 2016

T
iny!  Did you say you like tiny?  Well, we just happen to have the donkey for you!  Black Beauty gave birth to her very first baby at 6:30 on the morning of Saturday, April 16, 2016.  And wow! Did she set the bar high!  This tiny little donkey is a beautiful gray dun, perfectly conformed, full of fun, and a little lover!  Her dad?  Jeremy, of course!  Her name?  Zaria (say Za-REE-ah), which is Slavic for Morning Star.  Her price?  SOLD.  Don’t let this little girl pass you by.  Remember, all little girls come with a free breeding to an unrelated stud once they are three years of age.

March, 2016

J
anis gave birth to a smashing little girl the morning of March 19, 2016.  Her father is Jeremy and you just KNEW that she had to have a “J” name!  I don’t know why but her name just came to me:  Journey.  It fits her so well, that I didn’t even try out any other names.  Journey is beautiful, correct and possibly the friendliest little donkeys we have ever seen!  She had several visitors the first day had was not the least little bit shy!  She just went up to everybody she met, asking for hugs and scratches.  And who could deny her?  What a love!  Some family will be so lucky to welcome this little angel into their lives.  SOLD.

November, 2015

O
h my!  Bailey had her baby on Saturday, November 7, 2015.  She is the last of the Gino progeny.  And she is magical!  She is tiny; a true replica of her father.  In honor of her father, she got the most beautiful of Italian names:  Allesandra.  Oh, and did I mention she has a very short tail?  I told you she was magical!  This tiny, spotted love muffin has captured the hearts of all who have met her.  And to complete the magic that surrounds Allesandra, this little gem of a donkey is already SOLD.    Allesandra will be joining Jett and Brittany and their very loving family.  In the meantime, this precious little girl gets to stay with us until she is weaned at six months of age!

October, 2015

M
y oh my oh my!  Elevenses Red Velvet and Elevenses Red Adair did it again!  On Thursday, October 1, 2015, Red Velvet gave birth to a gorgeous little sorrel jennet with a brilliant white star on her forehead!  Let me just say, you can never have two many sorrel miniature donkey babies!  There is just nothing like them!  Oh, before I get too carried away, this new little sorrel jennet is Sangria.  Perfect, don’t you think?  Sangria is small, perfectly conformed, intelligent, personable, friendly, and (need I say it again)? SORREL!  Come meet her.  Pictures just don’t do her justice!  SOLD.

September, 2015

T
uesday, September 15, Arwen (Wee One’s Precious Heart) gave birth to one of the most beautiful little girls I have ever seen!  And this is just her first baby!  Imagine what she will do once she gets a little practice!  Dad is Gino and to honor Gino, we named this little princess Isabella.  Isabella is tiny, perfect, and has the most beautiful head you have ever seen on a donkey.  I just wish you could see her trot!  This is a show donkey if ever I have seen one!  You will not see many donkeys of this quality in this area!  SOLD.

May, 2015

S
unday, May 17, 2015, Storm Warning gave birth to a smashing little spotted jenny by Gino.  As you know, all of Storm’s babies get meteorological names (Solar Flare, Storm Surge, Echo, Lake Effect.  You get the idea.).  We named this little girl  Whirlwind.  Storm’s Whirlwind is not only correct and beautiful, but she is the best little snuggler we have ever met!   And who could resist snuggling with such a soft, fluffy spotted baby donkey?  Come pay Whirlwind a visit.  You will fall in love just as we did!  Whirlwind is staying right here!

I
was doing evening chores Thursday, May 21 when I noticed Jasmine was in labor.  I rushed aback to the Nursery, grabbed Storm and Whirlwind, took them over to West Twenty, then grabbed Jasmine and ran her back to the Nursery!  Within minutes, she gave birth to a lovely little gray dun jack.  Whew!  Just in time!  We already had a name for him:  Miles, after Miles Davis, the Jazz musician.  Miles just couldn’t get the hang of nursing, so at 9:00 I gave him eight ounces of colostrum, which he sucked down.  That seemed to flip the switch and he has been nursing nearly constantly ever since!  SOLD

October, 2014

Poor Rosie was bigger than a house and was getting grouchier by the day!  We ALL wanted her to have this baby!  Rosie is sorrel, as is Elevenses Red Adair, the father of the little one who just refused to be born, so we knew it would also be sorrel.  While we were having troubles selecting a name for a girl, we had the perfect name for a boy:  Flash!  You know Flash - the superhero dressed all in red who runs really, really fast?  Well, she had her boy on October 22, 2014 and he immediately became Flash.  Our Flash is truly something special!  He is a lovely shade of red with pink highlights.  It is going to be so much fun watching him mature and see his true colors develop!  Flash will add color and class to any donkey herd.  SOLD!

September, 2014

S
unday, September 7, 2014, after evening chores (7:30 PM), I decided to go over and check Janis.  Her bag was big and tight so I decided to bring her over to the Nursery.  She was in a hurry and  nearly dragged me all the Way.  When I put her in the interior stall, her tail was cocked and I asked her, “Are you going to do it tonight?”  I went to get a bucket of water and when I got back she was lying down.  I ran to the house to get towels and when I got back head and front legs were out!  Jett was born at 8:00 PM.  Jett (whose father is Jeremy) was standing in 20 minutes and nursing in 30 minutes.  He loves running and jumping, but his favorite activity of all is getting loving!  SOLD!

June, 2014

I
t seemed like we had been waiting FOREVER for Sugar Snap to have her baby!  He was definitely worth the wait!  This little guy is the very best of his mom and his dad, Gino.  Sugar Snap’s babies get vegetable names, so we call this spotted jack Sprout!  And he is every bit as adorable as his name!  Sprout is tiny, correct, and has the most beautiful pattern of spots you will ever see.  He is full of energy and full of himself!  Sprout will definitely put a smile on your face!  SOLD!

May, 2014

Upon returning from delivering a llama to his new owner on Saturday, May 3, 2014, I checked Sara.  I decided she was two weeks away from giving birth so removed her from Jeremy’s herd and put her in the big donkey herd.  That afternoon, wen doing chores, I noticed that Sara did not come in with the rest of the donkeys.  I walkout WAY to the very back of the pasture and found her with a brand new baby donkey!  I picked him up and walked Sara all the way back to the Nursery - about 20 feet away from where she was living just three hours earlier!  This gorgeous gray dun jack is named Solomon and he is truly a King among donkeys!  SOLD!

April, 2014

Well, Bailey did it again!  She had an absolutely ADORABLE spotted jack by Gino.  This little guy was born on Easter so there seemed to be just one perfect name for him:  Francis, as in Pope Francis.  Our Francis is primarily white with lovely light gray spots.  Francis doesn’t have a cross, unless, of course you connect the spots!  His mane is totally white.  His front legs are totally gray from the knee down.  He is bright, alert, affectionate, and playful.  We couldn’t be happier with this precious little guy!  Bailey is, of  course, the perfect mom, so proud of her little boy.  Francis would be the perfect best friend, or he could put your breeding program in super speed.  SOLD!

March, 2014

WHOOO
HOOOO! Guess what?  Red Velvet and Elevenses Red Adair teamed up to produce another winner!  When I went out to do chores Saturday morning, March 22, 2014 I found the most adorable little red jennet you have ever seen!  She is small, sorrel, and has a white star on her forehead.  She is perfect in every way!  I immediately contacted a friend who was anxious to see a newborn donkey foal and she came right out.  In fact, she helped me name these adorable little girl.  Her name is Ruby Rose, so that you make no mistake she is RED and to honor her grandmother, Rosie.  SOLD!

October, 2013

The
morning of October 1, 2013, We watched the International Space Shuttle fly across our sky form 6:11 to 6:15 AM.  Way cool!  When it disappeared over the horizon, en looked over at the donkey herd and said, “Is that a new baby?”  And of course it was!  Storm Warning had given birth to a beautiful spotted jack by Gino.  He was walking by his mom, already dry.  We had just watched the Space shuttle; We give all of Storm’s babies weather-related names.  How to combine the two into a name for this baby?  Well, Ken found the perfect name!  You see, the International Space Station just got a package of sensors to explore Red Sprites, cold forms of lightning that shoot upwards from storm clouds.  Our Red Sprite is bright white with  lovely gray spots.  He is incredibly friendly.  SOLD!

May, 2013

Jasmine always gives us beautiful babies by Jeremy and guess what?  She did it again!  Jasmine gave birth so a smashing jenny very early in the morning of May 8, 2013.  We usually call Jasmine Jazz, so give her babies Jazz names.  This one is named Roxie, for Roxie Hart of the musical Chicago.  Roxie is a talented singer and dancer, with a well developed sense of self...just like her namesake!  SOLD!

March, 2013

Friday, March 22, 2013,
Rosie gave birth to one of the most beautiful sorrel jennets we have ever seen!   Ken called me at work to tell me that this little girl with a great big white star on her forehead had been born just before noon.  I asked several people at work to supply me with “red” names as befitting a sorrel daughter of Elevenses Red Adair.  The clear winner was Lucille Ball.  Our Lucille is strong, straight, and positively overflowing with personality! SOLD!
Well, Contessa did it again!  She keeps having extraordinary foals with Elevenses Red Adair, so we just keep breeding her to him.  And once again, she proved that our decisions are correct.  At 12:01 AM, Friday, March 9, 2013, Contessa gave birth to a positively BEAUTIFUL little girl.  We instantly fell in love with this little sweetheart with personality spilling over the edges.  We wanted the perfect name for her and came up with Peppermint Truffle.  Sweet enough for you?  Come visit our own little confection  and you will agree that the perfect way to end a day is with a little Truffle!  SOLD.

Janis and Jeremy have conspired to make a lot of beautiful babies over the years and this one is no exception!  On Monday, February 4, 2013, Janis gave birth to a lovely little girl we named Jenna.  Jenna is dark gary dun, feminine, smart, SWEET, and beautifully conformed.  Jenna LOVES to get scratches and will give lots of sweet kisses in return.  You have never been kissed by a baby donkey?  Well visit Jenna and get all the kisses you could possibly want!  SOLD.

December, 2012

Sugar
Snap (Wee Ones Sweet Pea), the tiny spotted donkey we bought a year and a half ago, gave birth to her very first baby on Monday, December 10, 2012.  Sugar Snap’s daughter, whose father is Gino, is also spotted, and also tiny (just 20 1/4 inches high at birth!).  We named this flashy little dynamo Julienne.  Julienne is full of personality and energy.  She is strong and correct.  She is exactly what everyone wants!  SOLD.

October, 2012

Well
, October started out with a bang!  October 2, 2012, Sara (Gray Dun) gave birth to a totally AWESOME jack.  He has black feet and legs, dark brown body, dark brown face, and medium brown ears.  His dad is Elevenses Red Adair so this is another product of sorrel crossed to non-sorrel.  Boy, are we getting some interesting colors with this cross!  We named this smashing young man Sarabanda Dark (a futuristic coffee).  If you like color, he just might be your cup of coffee (er, tea)!  SOLD.

T
he very next day (October 3, 2012), Bailey (Dream Hill’s Pearl, a lovely spotted donkey) presented us with one of the most attractive spotted donkeys we have seen!  This little guy, whose father is Gino, is primarily white with light gray spots.  He is straight and strong, and, oh yes, TINY!  WHOOO boy! He will take your breath away!  We named him Agamemnon (from Greek mythology; also a ship from Traders Tales) and are calling him Aggie.  SOLD.

September, 2012

Guess what?  Guess what?  Red Velvet gave us the most amazing little jack on September 6, 2012!  This little guy is the extremely rare roan spot.  He has a wide white blaze , white on his right rear foot, and white on the tip of his tail.  He has a very interesting black area on the left of his white blaze.  He is smashing!!  His name?  Elevenses Enrico.  Enrico’s father is Gino.  This is our second roan spot.  The first, Elevenses Nicholas, was also a sorrel/spot cross.  What an amazing look!  Enrico is small and show/stud quality.  SOLD.

September, 2011

Storm Warning gave birth to her eighth foal on Thursday, September 22, 2011.  This little girl, as with all but one of Storm’s foals, was sired by Gino.  As you know, all of Storm’s foals get meteorologic names.  As Tropical Storm Ophelia was spinning around out in the Atlantic on Thursday, we names this smashing little girl after it.  Our Ophelia is a beautifully spotted donkey of soft gray and white.  While her cross is faintly visible down her shoulders, we cannot discern a dark line running down her backbone.  She has a wide blaze with lovely gray patches on her cheeks.  Little Ophelia is such a little lover!  She loves to cuddle and will come for hugs.  Your life will not be complete without this precious donkey!  SOLD

July, 2011

Well Jasmine did it again!  She had another smashing foal by Gino.  And guess what?  This little girl looks just like her dad!  Check it out!  She is mostly gray with a broad blaze and white spots on her rump.  Very striking!  I guess there is a reason why we keep breeding Jasmine to Gino.  And after this one, I don’t see anything changing.  Since Jasmine’s nickname is Jazz, we name her babies after Jazz musicians.  This little girl is Ella, after the late great Ella Fitzgerald.  Ella loves giving cuddles and playing chase.  She is the happiest little girl I have ever seen!  SOLD.

June, 2011

R
osie gave birth to a darling sorrel jennet on Saturday
night, June 18, 2011.  We love all our donkey babies, but this one just seems very special.  Her father is Elevenses Red Adair, so as you probably imagine, she is sorrel.  But she is not really red.  She is a very soft pink.  Oh, and did I forget to mention that she started to bray at less than two hours old?  That’s right, a singing donkey!  Ken immediately named her Rosemary Clooney.  Rosemary is affectionate, energetic, and has a great sense of humor.  SOLD.

April, 2011

Sara gave birth t
o her second
foal by Gino at 6:25 PM on Saturday, April 2, 2011; this was also her seconded spotted jack.  Her first Gino son was named Stefano, so in keeping with the Italian Connection, we named this one Salvatore.  Sal is very heavily spotted and positively stunning!    If you are looking for a jack to add spots to your herd, or if you just need some color in your life, Sal is the guy for you!  Come see Sal for yourself.  Pictures just don’t do him justice!  SOLD.

Janis
went into labor at 4:00 PM on Monday, April 11, 2011.  25 minutes later, we had a totally awesome Jeremy son!  We named him Janssen, as in David Janssen, the actor.  The last time Janis had a foal by Jeremy was in 2005:  a smashing jennet we named JoLinda.  Why did we wait so long to breed Janis to Jeremy again?  Janis and Jeremy make GORGEOUS babies together!  Janssen is tall, straight, confident, and FULL of energy!  It was all we could do to get him to stand still for a picture!  Janssen will spread joy wherever he goes.  SOLD

March, 2011

Red Velvet gave birth to an adorable sorrel jenny on Friday, March 11, 2011.  We discovered the foal at 5:45 AM and estimated her to be about an hour old  Once she was dry and we were convinced she was a sorrel like both her mom and her dad (Elevenses Red Adair), we started talking about a name.  Red Velvet is named after Red Velvet cake, a Southern favorite.  Should this little darling also be named after a food?  Yes!  And so, she became Elevenses Strawberry Shortcake. SOLD.

September, 2010

C
ontessa went into labor at 1:30 PM on Saturday, September 4, 2010.  Just fifteen minutes later, she gave birth to a gorgeous, very dark, beautifully conformed little girl.  It just so happened that a couple who had just purchased Jumanji and Coretta were here and witnessed the birth.  Is it any surprise that they fell in love with  brand new baby donkey?  Well, they not only fell in love, they decided to make her a permanent member of their growing donkey herd!  They even had the perfect name for her:  Elevenses Estelle.  Estelle’s father is Elevenses Red Adair, so you know she has great things in her future. SOLD.

March, 2010

Storm
Warning and Gino have given us some of our most striking foals.  this one is no exception!  Friday, March 12, 2010, Storm warning gave birth to one of the most striking spotted jennets I have ever seen!  We wanted to give her the perfect name.  As you know, Storm Warning’s foals typically get meteorologic names, so we considered Gale Warning.  That reminded Ken of Gale Storm, the actress and singer who starred in My Little Margie and The Gale Storm Show.  What a perfect name!  So this little charmer is Elevenses Gale Storm.  SOLD

January, 2010

WHOOO HOOOO!!!!  Brittany gave us a little girl on January 17, 2010!!  Are we ever excited!  This precious Jeremy daughter is tiny, correct, gray dun, and has a white star on her forehead.  She is as friendly as can be, but FULL of energy!  She is a real fireball!  She was born the day before Martin Luther King’s birthday, so we named her Elevenses Coretta, in honor of Coretta Scott King.  Coretta is everything you could ever want in your best friend, show donkey, or breeding female.  SOLD.

December, 2009

Well,
Rosie and Elevenses Red Adair did it again!  Rosie gave birth to a positively ADORABLE sorrel jack with a white star on his forehead on December 6, 2009.  We named him Elevenses Red Baron.  Red Baron is full of confidence and is so very affectionate!  He will come running for pets and scratches.  He loves playing with his big brothers and sometimes stays out late running and playing even though his mom is calling him to come back inside!  Typical boy, wouldn’t you say?  SOLD.

October, 2009

J
anis graced us with the most unusual foal on Wednesday, October 14, 2009!  This little guy’s father is Gino, our spotted jack.  While not covered with white spots, the new foal has the widest blaze on his face that I have ever seen!  He is positively SMASHING!!!  He is also so full of energy and full of HIMSELF, that he just keeps you laughing!  His name?  Elevenses Jumanji.  Jumanji is very light gray; his mane and cross are light brown.  He has a look all his own!  SOLD.

September, 2009

We had been anticipating Sara’s baby for quite some time.  She had been bred by Jeremy and her last foal by Jeremy (Elevenses Sawyer) was positively stunning!  Would she do it again?  Well, we found out on Saturday, September 26, 2009!  At 6:00 PM, Sara gave birth to a tiny, incredibly light gray dun jack we named Elevenses Sarge.  Sarge is every bit as nice as Sawyer!  His jet black cross contrasts beautifully with his very light gray color.  Sarge is likely the friendliest foal we have ever seen.  He absolutely LOVES attention!  If you don’t believe me, come see him for yourself.  SOLD.

August, 2009

Elevenses Red Velvet gave birth to her second son by Elevenses Red Adair Sunday morning, August 23, 2009.  We were expecting a sorrel foal and were not disappointed!  This little boy is totally smashing!  My sister and her husband were visiting us the weekend that this baby was born, so we asked them to name him for us.  They chose the perfect name:  Elevenses Rojito (“Little Red”).  So Rojito he is!  Rojito is full of fun and energy.  SOLD.

March, 2009

Thursday night,
March 5, 2009, Contessa
gave birth to a stunning little jennet.  This is Contessa’s second foal by Red Adair and we couldn’t be happier!  This little girl is very dark brown (nearly black) with a white star on her forehead.  She is the color of a strong cup of coffee so we named her Elevenses Cafe Verona.  Verona was standing in just ten minutes and nursing within a hour.  She is full of energy and mischief!  Verona would be a great addition to any family or breeding program.  SOLD.

November, 2008

We put
Josie in the interior stall Sunday night, November 2, 2008.  She was pregnant with her tenth foal and while neither Ken nor I thought she was going to give birth that night, we didn’t want to take any chances.  Ken checked in the monitor at 12:00 midnight – no baby.  He got up at 1:50 AM and casually checked the monitor.  There was a baby in the stall – standing and nursing on Josie!  We got dressed and ran out to the Nursery.  Josie had a lovely little jennet.  And do I mean little!  She was only 27 pounds!  But, wow, is she ever gorgeous!  Josie and Jeremy make the very best babies together!  All of Josie’s babies get Josephine or Joseph in their names.  It took us no time at all to name this little darling Elevenses Savannah Josephine. Savannah Jo was reserved before she was born and her new family visited her before she was even twelve hours old!  SOLD.

August, 2008

Storm Warning
(a spotted donkey) was bred to Gino, our spotted jack, so we were expecting a spotted foal.  Imagine our surprise when Storm gave birth to a gorgeous very dark (but not black) jack on Sunday, August 17, 2008.  He has a black nose and black tummy; this is called NLP, or no light points.  He is striking!  All of Storm’s babies get meteorological names, so this one is named Nimbus (think cumulonimbus clouds).  Nimbus is correct, full of energy, and as handsome as they come!  Nimbus is gelded and has been SOLD.

June, 2008

Monday morning, June 2, 2008, Rosie gave birth to a little sorrel jack by our sorrel herdsire, Red Adair.  Whoo boy, is he ever gorgeous!  I swear, each sorrel foal is more beautiful than the last one!  We named this precious little guy Elevenses Red Rover.  Rover is a very soft sorrel and has one of the most beautiful faces I have ever seen on a miniature donkey foal!  If you are interested in sorrel, you couldn't do better than this little guy!  SOLD.

Just two days later, Brittany
gave birth to a gray dun jack by our gray dun herdsire, Jeremy.  This little guy is tiny, perfectly conformed, full of fun, and he has a small white star on his forehead.  What a doll!  One look at him and we knew his name was Elevenses Benjy.  Benjy is so full of energy and so athletic, that we often see him jump right OVER his mom when she is lying down for what I am sure she thought was going to be a relaxing nap.  SOLD!

Ken was doing chores the afte
rnoon of Friday, June 20, 2008, when he looked out in Gino's pasture and saw Pearl standing over a bright white foal.  He was highlighted, just as if a spotlight were shining on him.  What else could we call him but Elevenses Spotlight?  This is not Pearl's first foal by Gino, but it is her first spotted foal.  Spotlight is stunningly gorgeous!  He is bright white with a very minimal number of soft gray spots.  He is tall, straight and full of energy.  SOLD.

May, 2008

Janis was
in the Nursery and we were expecting a baby by our spotted jack, Gino, any minute.  We were with her when she went into labor and when she gave birth to a startlingly beautiful, dark gray jennet Sunday, May 11 at noon.  We named this precious little girl Elevenses Jolene after the Janis Ian song:

Jolene steps out like the life of the party, High class heels and polka dot sleeves, Wears her hair like a girl in a hurry, Walking and talking and rocking to the beat of the street.

We are going through the list of folks waiting for a baby and expect that Jolene will be SOLD in the next couple of days.  If you want an Elevenses donkey, do not hesitate to call.  We have three girls due in June.

March, 2008

Sunday
night, March 9, 2008, Sara went into labor.  At 9:50 PM, she gave birth to beautiful steel gray jack.  We immediately named him Sawyer.  Sawyer's father is Jeremy and he is going to look just like his dad!  Sawyer is unbelievably friendly (even for a donkey!) and loves cuddles more than anything else in the world!  Not surprisingly, this precious little baby is already SOLD!

February, 2008

Red Velvet, a beautiful dark
sorrel jennet, was bred to Red Adair and we were anxiously awaiting a sorrel foal.  We were not to be disappointed.  At 5:15 AM, Tuesday, February 19, Red Velvet gave birth to light sorrel jack with a large white star on his forehead!  He is breathtaking!  We knew immediately that his name would be Elevenses Redford.  Before the day was over, he was SOLD!  Once Redford is weaned, he will move to Chatham County to live with Rafer Johnson.  In the meantime, we get to enjoy this gorgeous, affectionate little donkey

November, 2007

We put Jasmine in the interior
stall on November 15, 2007.  She was as big as a house, and she was about ten days past her due date.  We were watching her every couple of hours and had the audio monitor on during the night.    We were not to be disappointed.  Jasmine had a stunning, tricolored jack at 6:10 AM, Sunday, November 18, 2007!  Since we always call Jasmine Jazz, her last several babies have been named after Jazz artists.  That is how this little guy got to be named Cole Porter.  Cole Porter is loud, splashy, straight, and has attitude!  His dad is Red Adair and I can guarantee this will not be the last Jasmine / Red Adair cross we see!  Cole Porter is AWESOME!  So awesome, in fact, that he was SOLD before he was six hours old

July, 2007

We were checking Contessa every mornin
g and every evening.  She was pregnant by Gino and we knew she was close.  I checked her at 5:00 PM on July 19.  Her bag and nipples were larger than they were that morning even though this had been a very hot day.  I knew she needed to go into the Nursery, but decided to wait a couple of hours so that it would be a bit cooler.  When  I got there at 7:00 PM, Contessa was in labor!  I threw her halter on as she broke water and hurried her to the Nursery!  She immediately laid down and within seconds, we had nose and toes! at 7:05 PM, Contessa gave birth to a beautiful gray dun Jack we named Elevenses Rafer Johnson.  Rafer is perfectly conformed, incredibly personable, and a lovely soft gray with pink highlights.  SOLD.

April, 2007

Josie, a nineteen year-old
miniature donkey went into labor on Wednesday, April 25, at 9:30 PM.  We had been watching her on the monitor and the minute she laid down, we grabbed towels and ran out to the Nursery.  She expelled a bubble, but despite intense labor, we had no indication of a nose or toes.  At 9:45 PM, I put on gloves and went in.  I found a baby in the normal presentation, but one of the feet was pointing up.  I pointed it down and pulled it out.  By now, Josie was really tired, so we essentially delivered her foal.  He is a gorgeous gray dun jack who looks just like his handsome dad, Jeremy.  All of Josie’s babies get Joseph or Josephine in their names, and this new little one is no exception.  He quickly became Elevenses Java Joe. Java Joe is one of the friendliest donkeys we have ever seen!  He loves to be snuggled and will follow you everywhere, always ready for a hug.  Congratulations, Josie and Jeremy!  You did it again!  SOLD.

February, 2007

Monday morning,
February 12, 2007, Storm Warning gave birth to a loudly spotted jack.  Since we always give Storm’s babies meteorological names, and since the folks in upstate New York have recently been devastated by lake effect snows, we named this very special boy Elevenses Lake Effect.  Lake, whose father is our sorrel jack, Elevenses Red Adair, has both gray and sorrel spots and is everything you would ever want in a jack.  Believe me, the picture does not do this baby justice!  Way to go, Storm!  SOLD

December, 2006

We brought
Elevenses Pearl over to the Nursery on the afternoon of December 7, 2006 and proceeded to watch her.  She went into labor at 10:00 PM and gave birth to a very large, gorgeous dark brown jennet at 10:30 PM.  It was already below freezing with a forecast low of 18 degrees.  We were drying this baby as quickly as we could so that she wouldn’t get chilled.  When she stood up tall at 11:10 PM, we knew her name could be none other than Long Tall Sally.  With Pearl as a mom and Gino as a dad, there is no doubt this precious little girl will grow up to be a lovely young lady!  SOLD

Sunset Acres Rosie, one of our sorre
l jennets, was just short of a year in her pregna
ncy by Red Adair, huge, and incredibly uncomfortable.  So we started letting her spend the night in the Nursery.  You know.  Just in case.  Well, Sunday night, December 17, 2006, she started looking a bit agitated around 8:00 PM, but by 10:00 PM, she was calm again.  We cleaned up her stall and went to bed.  Monday morning, December 18, 2006, I got up and immediately looked in the monitor only to find that Rosie already had a baby!  We flew out to the Nursery to find an absolutely smashing light sorrel jack.  Since he was still wet, we estimated his time of birth to be around 3:30 AM.  It didn’t take us long to name him:  Elevenses Rougemont.  Rougemont, our town, is French for Red Mountain.  If you want a little red in your life, do not let this beautiful little jack slide through your fingers.  SOLD

November, 2006

The night of November 18,
Elevenses Janis had her baby.  We had been watching her all day and stayed up lat, but still no baby.  I was just about to give up and go to bed when Ken said he thought she was about to go into labor.  And he was right.  Boy, did she ever go into labor!  She was literally lying on her back with all four feet in the air!  Then, before we knew it, we had two feet and a nose.  I was stripping the nose, letting Janis know that she was doing well, when she jus squirted the kid right out!  This beautiful brown jennet with sorrel ears was born at 11:35 PM.  She was standing at 11:50 PM and nursing at 11:55 PM.  She hadn’t walked yet, but she was sucking on a nipple!  We are so thrilled with this beautiful little girl!  Oh yes, the Janean is for her mom, Janis, and the Rose is for her dad, Elevenses Red Adair.  Since we have had Red Adair, he has fathered only girls!  And only beautiful girls!  We couldn’t be more thrilled with our little Janean Rose who was snatched up before she was 24 hours old.  SOLD.  Sorry about that, folks!

August, 2006

Thursday night, August 31, 2006,
Sara went into labor.  We had been watching her for a long time as she was big enough to give birth to a house.  She broke her water at 9:40 PM and gave birth to a positively stunning jennet at 9:55 PM.  We have only had Sara since January of 2004, but she has given us two incredible foals by our spotted Jack, Gino.  Her first was a gorgeous spotted jack named Elevenses Stefano.  This new little girl is also spotted and as precious a little donkey as you will ever see!  Her name is Elevenses Gioconda, an Italian name meaning Happy.  SOLD.

June, 2006

Elevenses Red Velvet, one of our
two sorrel jennets, gave birth to her first foal on Saturday, June 24, 2006 at 6:10 PM.  This precious little baby (whose father is our gray dun jack, Jeremy) is very light gray dun with sorrel highlights and white points.  We named her Elevenses Scarlet Ribbons after the lovely song by that title:  Send, dear God, some Scarlet Ribbons, Scarlet Ribbons for my hair.  Our Scarlet Ribbons is lovely, affectionate, and full of energy!  What a delight!  SOLD.

March, 2006

Elevenses
Jasmine gave birth to a lovely little spotted jennet at 2:20 AM on March 18, 2004.  As we often refer to Jasmine by her nickname, Jazz, we like to name her foals after jazz musicians (Brubeck, Manhattan Transfer, Coltrane) and so this little girl became Elevenses Allyson after Karrin Allyson.  Allyson, whose father is our spotted jack Gino, is mostly white with beautiful gray markings.  She is full of energy and always ready for a hug.  What a delight!  SOLD.

January, 2006

Contessa went into labor at 10:30 PM,
January 25, 2005.  At 11:20, she gave birth to a gorgeous little jenny.  This was Contessa’s seventh foal on Elevenses; her first by our sorrel jack, Red Adair.  Contessa is a very dark brown (registered black as a foal) jennet who has given us beautifully colored donkeys, but this little girl is truly remarkable!  She appears to be a very dark cherry sorrel, so we named her Elevenses Morella (a feminine version of the Morello black cherry).  Morella is incredibly straight, very draft, and exactly what you want in a breeding jennet.  SOLD.

August, 2005

Josie gave birth to our first Red Adair
baby on August 6, 2005.  This precious little girl is gray dun with sorrel genetics.  She is full of love and bursting with energy!  We named her Elevenses Karrin Josephine after the singer, Karrin Allyson.  (Oh yes, Karrin Jo pronounces her name CAR-in).  Josie's babies have all matured into extraordinary donkeys with loving personalities and the capability to produce beautiful babies.  This is one you just have to see!  SOLD

June, 2005

On June 1, 2005,
Storm Warning gave birth to her fourth foal by Gino.  Since all previous foals were spotted (both Storm and Gino are spotted), we expected a spotted foal.  Were we ever surprised!  This little mini donkey is extremely dark gray with no light points.  Smashing!  And absolutely perfect!  We name all of Storms babies meterological names (Elevenses Solar Flare, Elevenses Echo, Elevenses Storm Surge), so we named this little girl Elevenses Storm Chaser.  Chase is delicate, feminine, lovable, and as beautiful a little girl as you will ever see!  SOLD

Now, we were
waiting on Brittany to have her foal.  Brittany is gray dun and she was bred to Jeremy, our gray dun jack.  We were expecting a gray dun foal.  I guess it is time for us to stop predicting colors in donkeys!  When Brittany gave birth to her foal on June 6, 2005, it was definitely not gray dun.  In fact, this little boy is an exact duplicate of Chase!  That’s right.  He is very dark gray with no light points!  How can this be?  The two identical babies were fathered by two very different jacks!  We wanted to honor both Brittany and Jeremy and so named this little guy BJ.  But we spell it BeeJay for two reasons:  we couldn’t figure out what B and J stood for, and because BJ Hunnicut on Mash once revealed that his BJ was short for nothing.  It is just BJ.  Or BeeJay.  Our BeeJay is very tiny, very correct, and very handsome; not unlike the BJ Hunnicut of television fame.  SOLD
Elevenses Pearl gave birth to a
gorgeous gray dun jack by Gino on Sunday June 19, 2005, the last day of the US Open in Pinehurst, North Carolina.  You might remember that the last time the US Open was held in Pinehurst, it was won by Payne Stewart.  Payne Stewart was a colorful, very much loved golfer.  Unfortunately, he was killed an airplane accident just a very few months later.  As so many people were remembering Payne during the 2005 US Open, we also wanted to honor him.  And so Pearl’s new mini donkey became Elevenses Payne Stewart.  Payne is beautifully put together and loves nothing more than a good scratch and a big hug.  SOLD

Sunset Acres Rosie (sorrel jennet)
gave birth to her second foal by our spotted jack, Dewey Meadows Gino II on June 23, 2005.  Her first was a roan spotted jack born on Christmas Eve 2004, who we named Elevenses St. Nicholas.  This little girl is a very splashy spotted jenny that just demanded to be named Elevenses Confetti.  Confetti is full of energy, fun, and confidence!  She is always ready for a quick snuggle, but don’t take too long.  This girl has things to do!  SOLD

May, 2005

Guess what?
We CAN make girl babies!  Elevenses Janis gave birth to a lovely little jennet on Thursday, May 12 at 4:30 PM.  She was walking in just 15 minutes and nursing by 5:30 PM.  This little girl's father is Jeremy and so we named her Elevenses JoLinda, in honor of both parents.  JoLinda has extraordinary conformation, a lovely feminine head, and the personality everyone wants in their miniature donkeys.  In less than a week, JoLinda was running up for donkey hugs every time we called her name!  We are both absolutely in love with this little darling!  JoLinda would make the perfect child's pet or the ideal breeding jennet.  You just can't go wrong with her.  SOLD

February, 2005

Sara gave birth to a beautiful
spotted jack by Gino on February 27, 2005.  This is Sara's seventh foal, but her first since she came to live on Elevenses.  This tiny little boy gets his spots from his dad and his confidence from his mother.  To honor both parents, we named him Elevenses Stefano.  Stefano is such a giggle!  He is a real trickster, sneaking up behind us when we least expect it!  He is intelligent, beautifully marked, and is blessed with perfect conformation.  He is everything anyone would ever want in a miniature donkey!  SOLD

July, 2004

July 7, 2004, Contessa
gave birth to an amazingly handsome solid chocolate NLP (no light points) jack.  We named him Hershey, due to his rich chocolate color.  Hershey, whose father is Jeremy, is correct, gorgeous, friendly, and exactly what every breeder is looking for in a breeding jack.  What an amazing donkey!  SOLD

May, 2004

Jasmine, a spotted jennet,
had a spotted foal by Gino, our spotted jack, on Tuesday, May 18.  And is he ever gorgeous!  We often call Jasmine by her nickname, Jazz, so many of her foals are given names of Jazz musicians.  We call this newest one Elevenses Coltrane.  Coltrane is beautifully marked, straight, strong, and as friendly a little donkey as you will ever find!  He is going to make a great herdsire!  SOLD

February, 2004

You
have spoken and we have responded!  You want more donkeys than we can supply and so we have purchased another jennet.  Windcrest Sara is here and is bred to our spotted jack, Dewey Meadows Gino II.  We can hardly wait for what will surely be a smashing foal next spring.  Sara brings new bloodlines to our farm and we are thrilled to have her here.  Welcome, Sara!

January, 2004

Josie gave birth to
her seventh foal on January 24, 2004.  Josie always has such beautiful babies with Jeremy that we always breed her back to him.  This tiny little girl is no exception!  Elevenses Amanda Josephine is correct, extremely affectionate, and gray dun with NLP (no light points).  She is absolutely a breeder's dream!  If you have always wanted a cuddly little donkey with a shiny black nose, come take a look at Amanda Jo.  You will fall in love!  SOLD

December, 2003

Rosie gave birth
to our last miniature donkey foal of 2003 at 10:30 PM, December 24 - Christmas Eve.  This gorgeous little boy was fathered by our spotted jack, Gino, and is also spotted.  We were thrilled to have a beautiful baby on Christmas Eve and immediately named him Elevenses St. Nicholas in honor of the day.  Nicholas is primarily dark gray with a white blaze, white feet, and beautiful white spots going down his right hip.  We knew he wouldn't last long, but even we were surprised when we SOLD him the very next morning!  Nicholas will be going home with some very good friends who already have three mini donkeys.

November, 2003

Elevenses Pearl
gave birth to her first foal by Gino on November 30, 2003.  Pearl, who usually has extraordinary jacks, decided to gift us with a jennet this year.  This beautiful little girl deserved a special name and with Pearl as her mother, it only made sense to name her Elevenses Opalescence.  Opalescence is very refined and feminine - she is all girl!  But don't get fooled by her charming ways.  Opal has a mischievous streak and she will sneak up behind you when you least expect it!  Opal is SOLD and will spend the rest of her magical life with her brother, Storm Surge.
Storm Warning gave birth
to her third foal (all by our spotted jack, Gino) Friday morning, November 21, 2003.  Storm's first two foals were spotted jennets and we called them Elevenses Solar Flare and Elevenses Echo.  This little guy is also spotted, and, staying with the meteorological theme, we named him Elevenses Storm Surge.  Surge is tiny, correct, and beautifully spotted.  He is a real lover and wishes every one of you would come give him a hug.  Once you see him, you won't be able to resist his dreamy eyes and soft nose.  Sorry, Surge is already SOLD!  He will live a life of luxury with his sister, Opalescence.

Brittany gave birth t
o her sixth foal on November 12, 2003.  This tiny, dark gray jack is an absolute joy!  He is so affectionate and so funny, he will keep you laughing for hours!  This adorable little boy deserved an adorable name and so we settled on Elevenses Banjo.  Banjo, whose father is Jeremy, bounces everywhere he goes and stops just long enough to give hugs and kisses to the lucky people who find themselves in his company.  What a joy!  Sorry - Banjo is already SOLD!

Elevenses Janis surprised us with an adorable li
ttle jack on October 31, 2003 - Happy Halloween!  This little fellow (whose father is our Jeremy) is small, perfectly conformed, and so very affectionate!  in honor of his birthday, we named this gray dun monster Elevenses Boris Karloff.  Boris is an absolute delight.  But don't take my word for it.  Come visit him and see for yourself!  Boris is already SOLD.  He and Banjo will live the rest of their lives together.
